Tourist In My Town

Ok, so I guess it is fair to say that Olsztyn is "my town" now. I don't know, it is always weird for a TCK like myself to try to belong to a place, and that funny feeling of home sickness when I see an airport on an episode of Grey's Anatomy is just one of those things I have to try to suppress. So, for the time being at least, this is my town. Anywho, to get back on topic, my family visited this last week, so I got to show them around Olsztyn. Not that there is a whole lot to see, and many interesting things I have yet to come across, but I showed them what I knew. Interesting thing it is, touristing a town where one has lived for about 7 months, but I definitely came across some new places, and it just goes to show that there are always novelties wherever one goes. The break has been good, but now it is time to get back to real life and finish school well before summer. Work Hard, Play Hard. =)

On a side note, This good weather has really got me itching to play some more futa... gotta find time to get on that. My feet are itching for some action.

T.I.P. #3 Polish Girls Speedwalk

I don't know if I am the only one that has noticed this, but the women of Poland all seem to be endowed with some sort of super power. Nothing else can explain how they can walk so fast without even seeming to make an effort. Take any random day when I am walking to school, or just strolling around in the city, and I hear a ballad of high heels approaching. The competitive side within me tells me to not let myself get overtaken by someone walking in such, albeit beautiful, painful and disabling contraptions , so I quicken my pace. I get all cocky like "yea, that will show them who is the faster one here, shawty please, I climbed Mt. Kenya, I know how to walk like a boss!!" As I strut my pedestrian skills I hear the ballad quicken its pace and the clicks of the heels come ever closer. "Whuuuut," I think to myself, "how the heck is she still keeping pace with me, I should be like miles ahead by now" I keep on  speeding forward, almost breaking into a little sweat, and then all of a sudden, like out of nowhere, she passes me. And then another passes me, then 3 then 4 then 5. Not only do they just pass me, which in itself sort of caught me by surprise, but they do it without seemingly putting any effort into it. They just like float forward like some sort of 22nd century hover craft, while I am mangling ahead all "Dirty Jobs Excavators Style". I don't really know what to make of this, but needless to say I have been thoroughly humbled, and no longer try to win a race I know I am destined to lose.

But I see the positive side in this, when they pass me, at least I get the chance to look at them ;)

Break Around the Corner

Almost There! After some grueling couple of weeks the much awaited May break has arrived. Last day of classes are today, and then I can look forward to a whole week of NO SCHOOL! Logically, most of my Swedish classmates are returning to the motherland, but not me, instead my family is coming over to see how I have it here, and to experience Poland (!) =) I must say I am excited, the weather promises to be quite stupendous, with temperatures said to go as high as 26 on Monday Olsztyn is going to be reaching Ibiza levels. I have heard that in Sweden it is not quite so warm, so I count myself a winner in this situation.
On a side note, check out the Arsenal vids I have syndicated (just learned how to do that yesterday!) at the bottom right here on my blog. RVP's speech at the PFA Awards shows his commitment to the club quite clearly I daresay.
Now I am off to an intense PE class, ciao bella.
